I served in the Navy.

Jerry Hugh Reed was born May 29, 1938 in Okmulgee the son of Hugh and Francis (Pipkins) Reed. He passed from this life on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 79 years, 10 months, and 13 days.

Jerry graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1956. He served in the Army National Guard and the Army Reserves from 1960 to 1966. Jerry moved to Tulsa in 1971 and worked as a self-employed denturist for 52 years. He was a member of the Red Fork Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and antique radios, building remote control airplanes, gardening and bird watching. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

His survivors include wife, Barbara Reed of Tulsa; son, Jerry Reed II and wife, Nancy of Inola; daughters, Kathy Harris and husband, Chad of Broken Arrow, Sherry Jones and fiancé Darrell Hill of Tulsa and Debbie Ozee and husband, Chip of Double Oak, TX; step-son, Glenn Farmer and wife, Kay of Keller, TX; sister, Carol Andersen of Amarillo, TX; nieces, Terri Andersen and Lisa Roberts both of Amarillo, TX; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by mother, Francis Reed; father, Hugh Reed; and second wife, Sally (Bilby) Reed.

Visitation for Jerry will be held 9am to 8pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 and 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1pm, Monday, April 16, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Rod Harris will be officiating. A graveside service will follow the service at 3pm in the Okmulgee City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
